El-Khoury Belisario in 5 Days

COMMANDOpera notes one of the greatest take-downs in Operatic history is about to occur in five days in London. Important theatre managements who are not in attendance, will be waiting for word on what Miss Joyce El-Khoury is going to do with the final air in Belisario ’Egli e spento’, which has up until this moment been universally owned by the great Turkish soprano Leyla Gencer. Very much in the manner of Miss Beverly Sills as Cleopatra, or early Miss Sutherland as Lucia, Miss Gencer has laid claimed to Belisario, if the numerous recordings on YouTube are an indicative testament (is it the extended D which carries on endlessly, or the sensational piano which precedes the final moments?). COMMANDOpera has not been able to ascertain whether or not the concert will be broadcast live by the BBC, however a complete studio recording will take place within days. Without question, Miss El-Khoury who owns a vocal instrument with identical qualities of the Bulgarian soprano Ghena Dimitrova, will know a huge triumph on the evening of October 28th. COMMANDOpera expects the pirates in London will be out in force at the Barbican as they are very aware of when something of this significance is to take place. If COMMANDOpera is made aware of any such recordings, global readers will know of it immediately.

The record to be broken.

COMMANDOpera simply cannot call this, however we have recently heard Miss El-Khoury, and this vocal instrument is off the hook. All bets are off.
