La traviata Opens Montreal
COMMANDOpera will attend the 2012-2013 season opening performance of La traviata at the Opera de Montreal next Saturday for the purpose of formal review. The Opera de Montreal production will star Greek Soprano Myrto Papatanasiu as Violetta, who enjoyed a great triumph in the role in Dallas last season, which marked her North American debut. Mr. Roberto De Biasio will essay Alfredo, and Mr. Luca Grassi is Germont. Maestro Fabrizio Maria Carminati is on the podium fo the four day run. COMMANDOpera highly advises attendance to these performances, particularly those in New York who greatly esteem the vocal pyrotechnics found in the work.
