Stupendous La Traviata in Dallas

La Traviata will prima on the evening of Friday April 13th at the Dallas Opera for a run of six performances. The illustrious Artistic Director of the Dallas Opera has scored a decisive coup nonpareil: The North American debut of Greek Soprano Myrtò Papatanasiu. Mr. Jonathan Pell is one of the few remaining individuals working full time in Opera who may correctly claim direct professional lineage to Miss Maria Maneghini Callas. If Mr. Pell advises the instrument is reminiscent of the special beauty of Miss Callas, the world listens. One would permit the Dallas Opera a gloating smile as they go live with one sensational announcement after another. Here is Miss Papatanasiu:

‘Addio del passato’ La Traviata

COMMANDOpera wishes Mr. James Valenti all the best vocally, as Alfredo is a full lyric role and should not pose hurdles. Mr. Laurent Nouri will appear as Giorgio Germont, which should prove to be the other vocal highlight of the evening. Mr. Marco Guirdarini is on the podium for the entire run.
