Lyric Opera World Premiere
Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Announcement of World Premiere for 2015-16 Season will be globally streamed LIVE on February 28
Lyric Opera of Chicago will reveal details of its world-premiere commission for the 2015-16 season on Tuesday, February 28 at noon CST at the Civic Opera House in Chicago. Live audio of the press conference will be audio streamed by classical radio station 98.7WFMT on wfmt.com and video streamed at the Lyric’s website. Joining Lyric’s general director Anthony Freud at the press event will be music director Sir Andrew Davis and creative consultant Renée Fleming, and the composer, librettist, and stage director of the new opera.
COMMANDOpera will be wired into the stream. Will the Lyric Opera’s announcement rival the stupendous Dallas Opera New Commission ‘Great Scott!’ announced of a few weeks ago? If any Amercian theatre is going to pull off an upset it is the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
