Rusalka at the Royal Opera

Rusalka will prima on the evening of February 27 th with the Royal Opera House at 7:30 London time. The sensational American tenor, Bryan Hymel will undertake the role of Prince opposite the Rusalka of Miss Camilla Nyland in this Salzburg Festival production. COMMANDOpera fully expects Mr. Hymel will bring the house down as this repertoire is very much his fach in which he is unrivalled. The artist was much lauded at this theatre for his no holes barred portrayal of Don Jose in the 2010 Carmen, and it is fitting he is the Prince for this first ever mounting of Rusalka at Covent Garcen. COMMANDOpera may well approach Mr. Hymel before his prima for an exclusive on his thinking of this role debut. Miss Petra Lang is the Foreign Princess, and Miss Agnes Zwierko is Jezibaba. The Canadian phenomenon known as Maestro Yannick Nezet-Seguin, who is considered the most important conductor of Opera in recent times, will be on the podium.
