Adriana Lecouvreur will prima in a new production at the Oper Frankfurt on the evening of March 4th at 6 P.M. for a run of seven performances. COMMANDOpera suspects this will be something of a risque production gived the costumes are to be designed by Mr. Christian Lacroix. Combine his fach with Oper Frankfurt and well… Mr. Lacroix will also be joined once again with Mr. Caspar Glarner for stage design. Mr. Lacroix does not skimp on fabric out of necessity, but rather to make a point of a particular period. But can soprano Micaela Carosi (not the most electrifying stage presence) carry off such designs coherently? This will be left to the stage director, Mr. Vincent Broussard to figure out. The other curiosity is the Princess de Boullion has still not been announced, however Mr. Frank van Aken will undertake the role of Maurizio. Mr. Frederico Sacchi is essay the Prince de Boullion, stepping in to replace Mr. Magnus Baldvinsson who was badly bruised and broke three ribs whilst being lowered horizontally through a trap door on January 21 at the same theatre. Mr. Carlo Montanaro is on the podium.
